Windermere Fire Station: Curator
Windermere Fire Station #31 is a contemporary fire station envisioned as a striking beacon of safety and sustainability, embedded within the community of Windermere in Southwest Edmonton.
Built on the idea of a working landscape and looking to a sustainable future, Windermere Fire Station #31 will be the City of Edmonton’s first Net Zero building, and one of the first Net Zero fire stations in Canada.
The building will be a focal point in the neighbourhood, with an opportunity for three-dimensional public art on a concrete plinth beside a bio-swale area in the front of the building. Integrating natural and built environments, Windermere Fire Station #31 will be both a functional and symbolic site that looks to creating a safe and sustainable future for the community that it serves.
